Mind-blowing look at the longest buses in the world
If you’ve ever thought there weren’t enough space on an average bus, wait until you get a look at the longest buses we’ve uncovered. Some of these will have you wondering how they even navigate on the road without crashing into buildings and fellow vehicles. They’ve certainly left us stumped.
AutoTram Extra Grand
This spectacular creation is over 30 metres long and has a capacity of 256 passengers. The AutoTram Extra Grand is part of a series of bi-articulated buses and was unveiled in Germany.
Around the same time the AutoTram Extra Grand was unveiled, China announced the Youngman JNP6250G, a public transportation beast that can transport up to 300 passengers. This 25 metre stunner can reach a top speed of 50mph.
New Flyer XDE60
At a length of 18.30 metres, one would think the New Flyer XDE60 could transport many people. However, one of the world’s longest buses only has a maximum seating capacity of 59.
Volvo 7900 Hybrid Articulated
This 12 metre bus was specifically built to reduce damage to the environment by shutting down at bus stops to avoid idling and gas emissions. With a high passenger capacity of 151, this bus has three climate systems and over three doors.
Van Hool AGG300
At a length of almost 25 metres, this big boy, built by Van Hool, has 4 doors to 5 doors on both sides and a passenger capacity of 59+.
