Long Weekend? 4 Reasons To Join us this April.

 In News

With April quickly approaching, we’re bracing ourselves for two long weekends. Yes, Family Day on 2 April and Freedom Day on 27 April has all excited about the possibility of two long weekends – and what better way to enjoy them by taking a bus trip away? But where?

Worry not: Here at Citiliner, the most cost-effective way to travel this April, we’re a step ahead of you and have 4 epic Citiliner trips planned this April if epic is your thing. So, gather a crowd why don’t you, call the cousins and uncles, and get ready to celebrate family and freedom the Citiliner way – the epic way!

To be honest: It’s the only way we know how.

  1. Visit Jo’burg and pop-in at Gold Reef City this April

April

Although there are many reasons why you should get on a bus to Jo’burg this April, perhaps the most gut-turning, heart-pumping and exciting reason is found just south of the city. Jip – it’s called Gold Reef City and it’s South Africa’s premium theme park, modelled after the gold rush that built the Highveld.

So go on, take a step back to a golden era and try your hand at a few rides that you promised yourself you’d never do. With fun for the whole family on offer – including Gogo – it’s a day you’ll never forget. Hold on tight!

  1. Visit Cape Town and explore Kalk Bay

In the south-west corner of a country too beautiful to describe is a city beautiful enough to top it all off. Yes, it’s Cape Town and even in this drought-stricken time, it is a visit to remember. So, why not head down on a Citiliner bus and try it out: Skip the usual traffic of Table Mountain (while takingApril a few photos still) and head via its contours to a little suburb just south of it called Kalk Bay.

With the best fish and chips in the country, and a town so curio it will leave you curiously confused, there is a mountain of things to do (excuse the pun), including surfing just up the way in Muizies, history just down the way in Simon’s, and of course,  exploring all its pebble-laden streets.

Selfie paradise has never looked this good!

  1. Visit Durban and go sliding in uShaka Marine World

As we all brace ourselves for the crux of autumn and the coming cold weather, Durban braces itself for…well, more hot weather. So, grab your nearest Citiliner and head down to Durban for a rinse off at uShaka Marine world and do the water ride thing. Family is never as fun as it is when racing down super tubes, and nowhere in the country is it more awesome than here.

AprilIt helps, we suppose, that Durban itself stretches along a sub-tropical coastline that adds to any visit, with a city centre also doing its bit helping rediscover its glory days by adding to the depth of hipster-loving South Africa.

A must visit if you’re feeling the KZN love!

  1. Visit Nelspruit and embrace the Big Five this April

There are no two ways around it: Mpumalanga offers the best sunsets in the country as the orange of dusk looks best when tangled with the thick thorn bush khaki of the lowveld. Here, in the safari capital of the world, game viewing is king. The Kruger Park is a must-see for any traveller moving through South Africa, but game parks all about Nelspruit and the park itself will leave you more than satisfied.

So, don’t ignore the elephant in the room – the getaway you haven’t had for a while.

Take a trip to Nelspruit these coming long weekends and go and see a real elephant. Or a rhino! Either will do…

Don’t just take our word for it. Do it for real. Grab a Citiliner bus these upcoming long weekends and see where you end up. Book your tickets at www.citiliner.co.za or alternatively call our 24hrs Customer Care/Reservations on 011 611 8000.
